Tottenham's Erik Secco got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erik Secco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Adolfo Ferraz in the 28th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Erik Secco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Almeida was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Marco Almeida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik Secco's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. José Vítor Coelho's late challenge caught a Tottenham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erik Secco made a kick off. Marco Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Secco in the 76th minute of the match. Otávio de Barros made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Luiz Fernando Toscano sent off a good shot on target. Carlos Fernando Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio de Barros having to interfere. Erik Secco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Tottenham fully deserved thier win.
