Poli FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Dudu Peixoto scored to the left of an out of position Geovânio Tavares, making the score, 1-1. In the 29th match minute, Tiago Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agnaldo Lopes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Régis Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poli FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Régis Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
