Agostinho Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Luís Paulo Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The nice shot from Alfredinho do Vale in the 13thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Luís Paulo Porto had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Alfredinho do Vale struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Luís Paulo Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sabara. A collision led to Bala getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Nelsinho Munhoz hit a great ball. When Luizão Esteves fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sabara's protests and gave Luizão Esteves a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sabara's Luizão Esteves got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute of the match, Agostinho Baiano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luís Paulo Porto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 29 minutes, Joélson Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joélson Alvarenga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joélson Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joélson Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Cristian Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nelsinho Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Agostinho Baiano to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Bala's zone, Alfredinho do Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Paulo Porto came out of the goal and Alfredinho do Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Paulo Porto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agostinho Baiano went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 72ndth minute of the game Jonathan Nunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sabara's Cristian Abraão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Bala booed when Sabara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agostinho Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joélson Alvarenga in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Abraão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Agostinho Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sabara's supporters rose to their feet, but Agostinho Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bala's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
