In the 21st match minute, Sabara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizão Esteves to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the match, Sabara's goal looked a bit too open when Ediberto Amaral came free, but Cristian Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dito Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Baiano in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Alfredinho do Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André de Toledo in the 35th minute of play. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 0-1 when André de Toledo sped through Sabara's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cristian Abraão. Alexandre de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Cristian Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

52 minutes into the game, Sérgio da Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Batel D Guarapuava Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sabara the free kick. Agostinho Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 57th minute, Ediberto Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If André de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Kaká da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 70 minutes Sabara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Matías Ribeiro who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Matías Ribeiro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sabara's Cristian Abraão did a great save. Luizão Esteves hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Sabara's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ediberto Amaral fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Dito Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredinho do Vale in the 85th minute of the match.
