An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Moura in the 17th minute of play forced Cola na banca F.C's goalkeeper Marco Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Poli FC's Régis Batista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Almeida narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Richard de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Luiz Fernando Toscano fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Geovânio Tavares, passed just outside the right post. Marco Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Régis Batista was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Poli FC's zone, Luiz Fernando Toscano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovânio Tavares came out of the goal and Luiz Fernando Toscano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute Carlos Fernando Britto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geovânio Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Britto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Fernando Britto in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geovânio Tavares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 66 minutes into the game, Rodrigo Barral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poli FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cola na banca F.C the free kick. A collision led to Poli FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Rodrigo Barral hit a great ball. After having played for 67 minutes, Luiz Fernando Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cola na banca F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fernando Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute Régis Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, Carlos Fernando Britto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Geovânio Tavares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute, Carlos Fernando Britto made a precise shot to the right of Geovânio Tavares. Poli FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Marco Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiko Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cola na banca F.C's Luiz Fernando Toscano got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Poli FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
