With an all-out effort, Higienopolis Futebol Club's Raimundo de Mendonça threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Acácio Trigo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lenzi FC's Raimundo de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Acácio Trigo in the 30th minute of play. Acácio Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Raimundo de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Paulo Furlan's late challenge caught a Higienopolis Futebol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Paulo Furlan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Pedro Paulo Furlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Higienopolis Futebol Club's Walmyr Valle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Higienopolis Futebol Club from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Lenzi FC's zone, Fernandão Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimundo de Mendonça came out of the goal and Fernandão Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Acácio Trigo came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Higienopolis Futebol Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Acácio Trigo couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Aníbal Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot by Pedro Paulo Furlan from long distance, 67 minutes into the match, got Walmyr Valle's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Fernandão Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Higienopolis Futebol Club's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Aníbal Cabral fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Acácio Trigo in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raimundo de Mendonça saved Lenzi FC from getting behind. 82 minutes into the match, Lenzi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandão Matorin came free, but Raimundo de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimundo de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Acácio Trigo in the 89th minute of play. If Acácio Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute.
