The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Honorio Remigio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Milosz Wozniak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléber Macedo having to interfere. Diguinho Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Luís Fernando Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Milosz Wozniak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléber Macedo having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Oiteiros's zone, Milosz Wozniak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kléber Macedo came out of the goal and Milosz Wozniak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, José Carlos Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. novorizontino's supporters rose to their feet, but José Carlos Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kléber Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Felipe Rosa hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, novorizontino's Felipe Rosa got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 73rd minute, Felipe Rosa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kléber Macedo. The goal made the score 0-3. The audience was convinced that José Carlos Amaral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kléber Macedo was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. José Carlos Amaral struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Kléber Macedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for novorizontino. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched novorizontino eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
