Spectators: 7321 (Terracing: 5492, Seating: 1684, VIP seats: 145) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. André Dias started the match with the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 5 minutes into the game, when Luís Fábio Linhares put in a rough tackle. The crowd rose to their feet as Vítor Ortiz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Radu Moarcăș. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. In the 11th minute, one of Brasília Seahawks:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Brasília Seahawks. Vivaldo Castro shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After having played for 16 minutes, André Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brasília Seahawks's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Dias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Radu Moarcăș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gerson Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elivélton Vale came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Radu Moarcăș could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Ortiz in the 37th minute of play forced Brasília Seahawks's goalkeeper Radu Moarcăș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tauarua's Geraldo Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Rezende in the 40th minute of play. 43 minutes into the game, André Dias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Geraldo Carvalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vítor Ortiz made a kick off. Vítor Ortiz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Radu Moarcăș read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to Tauarua getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Elivélton Vale hit a great ball. In the 56th minute Vítor Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Moarcăș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Ademar Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Tauarua's zone, André Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geraldo Carvalho came out of the goal and André Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, Brasília Seahawks's goal looked a bit too open when Elivélton Vale came free, but Radu Moarcăș reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Brasília Seahawks's André Dias ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Geraldo Carvalho. Geraldo Carvalho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Paulinho Marques charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulinho Marques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Tauarua's Paulinho Marques got a free kick in the 79th minute. Radu Moarcăș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elivélton Vale in the 82nd minute of play. André Dias had several of the Tauarua's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 84 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Geraldo Carvalho as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 88th minute, Brasília Seahawks's André Dias ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Geraldo Carvalho. Geraldo Carvalho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Radu Moarcăș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elivélton Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geraldo Carvalho having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Tauarua's zone, André Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geraldo Carvalho came out of the goal and André Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Brasília Seahawks supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brasília Seahawks would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
