Gildo Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Lara having to interfere. When Gildo Donatello, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 45 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Joaquim Lara was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Arí Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Joaquim Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gildo Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute, Gildo Donatello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
