Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, João Coutinho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, MOSS FC's João Coutinho got control of the ball when Robinho Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jarbas Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adilson Rosado in the 23rd minute of the match. João Coutinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Araújo's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Nilton Mattos might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Coutinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilton Mattos ran back to his position shaking his head. MOSS FC's João Coutinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save MOSS FC from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Cruzeiro S.A's Nilton Mattos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Coutinho. That made the score 2-0 after 31 minutes of play. Kléber Dantas struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. João Coutinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cruzeiro S.A. Dráusio Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Kléber Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Coutinho having to interfere. Nilton Mattos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. Cruzeiro S.A's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 46th minute, Jacinto Araújo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of João Coutinho, passed just outside the right post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto Araújo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. MOSS FC's João Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Araújo in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Adilson Rosado made a precise shot to the right of Jarbas Tasso. Cruzeiro S.A's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in MOSS FC's zone, Robinho Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Coutinho came out of the goal and Robinho Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adilson Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Tasso having to interfere. A collision led to Cruzeiro S.A getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Dorival Dantas hit a great ball. After 63 played minutes, MOSS FC's Túlio Fernandez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jarbas Tasso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MOSS FC reached it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Araújo in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Coutinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 68 minutes of play, Cruzeiro S.A's Robinho Castro made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Coutinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nilton Mattos might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Coutinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilton Mattos ran back to his position shaking his head. João Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Mattos in the 72nd minute of play. After having played for 73 minutes, Kléber Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruzeiro S.A's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kléber Dantas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Coutinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Araújo's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Kléber Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Coutinho having to interfere. 87 minutes into the game, Jacinto Araújo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. João Coutinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th match minute, MOSS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júnior Cunha to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Cruzeiro S.A were the better team. Cruzeiro S.A's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
