Spectators: 7229 (Terracing: 5423, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Vitório Salgado made the kick off which started today's match. Luiz Guilherme Bertassi came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Delfino SC's Tarcisio Teles. But to his dismay, Tarcisio Teles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luiz Guilherme Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarcisio Teles in the 9th minute of play. Luiz Guilherme Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tarcisio Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitório Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Osvaldo de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Delfino SC's goalkeeper Osvaldo de Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdomiro de Godoi. Reinaldo Bastos hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Delfino SC's zone, Vitório Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo de Almeida came out of the goal and Vitório Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute Vitório Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delfino SC's Osvaldo de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitório Salgado in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Delfino SC's Aloísio Macedo got a free kick in the 27th minute. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Vitório Salgado took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Osvaldo de Almeida to make any attempt to save it. Zé Carlos Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Delfino SC's goalkeeper Osvaldo de Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdomiro de Godoi. When Vitório Salgado came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Cuiabá F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vitório Salgado couldn't finish the play. In the 45th match minute, Cuiabá F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Bastos to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amadeu Baiano made a kick off. With 59 minutes on the clock, Lenílson Ceresso commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 58th minute, one of Cuiabá F.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cuiabá F.C. 65 minutes into the match, Amadeu Baiano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luiz Guilherme Bertassi, 1-3. In the 72nd minute, Maurinho Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Guilherme Bertassi had great luck who in the 73rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Amadeu Baiano from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 75 minutes into the match, Tarcisio Teles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Guilherme Bertassi. Cuiabá F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tarcisio Teles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Reinaldo Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Valdomiro de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Valdomiro de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amadeu Baiano got free with Luiz Guilherme Bertassi in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
