Real-United-States's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabiano Linhares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gino Gerber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Ronaldinho Tepedino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real-United-States fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Dadá Trevisan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Pirani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
