That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Tepedino in the 6th minute of play forced Santos F.C's goalkeeper Davi Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute Dino Palmeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dadá Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Real-United-States's Dadá Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça in the 21st minute of play. Fabiano Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davi Baptista having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Real-United-States's Ronaldinho Tepedino ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Davi Baptista. Davi Baptista yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 32nd minute, José Vítor Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rdth minute of the game Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real-United-States's Dadá Trevisan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Davi Baptista made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Fabiano Linhares sent off a good shot on target. Dadá Trevisan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Santos F.C getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Washington Pitta hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, Santos F.C's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ronaldinho Tepedino fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça made the kick off in the second half. Davi Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Washington Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 63 minutes, Washington Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Washington Pitta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Washington Pitta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Santos F.C's Washington Pitta in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Real-United-States's goalie prevented a goal. Washington Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dadá Trevisan having to interfere. Davi Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabiano Linhares in the 80th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santos F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dadá Trevisan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
