The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Valdo Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. César Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. When Leopoldo Zonta fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xablau Loverboy's protests and gave Leopoldo Zonta a yellow card for diving instead. After 9 played minutes Xablau Loverboy got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Zonta. José Carlos Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. César Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucas Aparecido in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg César Varela saved Xablau Loverboy from getting behind. Cleiton da Mata's late challenge caught a Tacihua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cleiton da Mata helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Tacihua booed when Xablau Loverboy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cleiton da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. César Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Leopoldo Zonta kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Lucas Aparecido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. César Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Carlos Queirós took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised César Varela. César Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Tacihua's José Carlos Queirós got a free kick in the 25th minute. When Leonel Mandrak came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Xablau Loverboy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Mandrak couldn't finish the play. Cipriano Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Gerber having to interfere. Leonel Mandrak struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Gino Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xablau Loverboy. Cipriano Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Gerber having to interfere. Xablau Loverboy's Cipriano Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. César Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Aparecido in the 38th minute of play. Leonel Mandrak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After the first half Tacihua were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucas Aparecido made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Tacihua's zone, Cipriano Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gino Gerber came out of the goal and Cipriano Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lucas Aparecido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. César Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Laércio Saldanha sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Xablau Loverboy's César Varela didn't even have to move. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, José Carlos Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. José Carlos Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but César Varela made a huge save. A hard shot 83 in the game by José Carlos Queirós from a close distance when the talented César Varela managed to make a qualified save. Xablau Loverboy's players were relieved. A collision led to Xablau Loverboy getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Cleiton da Mata hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Aparecido in the 86th minute of play forced Xablau Loverboy's goalkeeper César Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonel Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Gerber having to interfere. The Tacihua players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
