After a rather tough play, Cancela's Mário Nascimento got a free kick in the 5th minute. After 7 played minutes Caripare SC got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Toscano. 8 minutes into the match, Cancela's Willian Perez broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After having played for 10 minutes, Alex França managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cancela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex França was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elias Mesquita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex França in the 12th minute. Alex França could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Elias Mesquita made a huge save. In the 18th match minute, Cancela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cido Tróia to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the game, Alex França cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Elias Mesquita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Caripare SC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. André Luís Freitas hit a great ball. In the 32nd match minute, Caripare SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito Branco to maneuver through the defense. Alex França's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Elias Mesquita skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Davi Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Elias Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Cancela's Mário Nascimento in the 41st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Elias Mesquita was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Caripare SC through an amazing save. In the 42nd minute Mário Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Elias Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when André Luís Freitas made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Caripare SC's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Nascimento came free, but Elias Mesquita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute Alex França shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Nascimento in the 68th minute of play forced Caripare SC's goalkeeper Elias Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leandro Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Caripare SC's Juninho Toscano got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Cancela's Willian Perez couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Caripare SC. If Mário Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caripare SC's Elias Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex França in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Freitas in the 81st minute of play forced Cancela's goalkeeper Arnaldo Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caripare SC's André Luís Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Caripare SC's André Luís Freitas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. If Alex França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cancela were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Caripare SC to leave the ground with a draw.
