The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Oséas Garcia scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcus Montenegro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 13th minute Oséas Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Gilmar de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcus Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zacarias Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. RUBRONEGRO CRF's Marcus Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséas Garcia in the 21st minute of play. Marcus Montenegro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oséas Garcia's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. If Carlos Fernando Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Crixas's Benê Faustino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celsinho Linhares in the 28th minute of play. Benê Faustino made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Gilmar de Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. Gilmar de Alcântara's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benê Faustino firmly grabbed it by the left post. Marcus Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséas Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Marcus Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas Garcia in the 33rd minute of play. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Crixas reached it. In the 45th minute, Zacarias Mangueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 46 minutes of play, RUBRONEGRO CRF's Gilmar de Alcântara made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benê Faustino was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Claudinei Domingues made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Garcia in the 52nd minute of play forced RUBRONEGRO CRF's goalkeeper Marcus Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benê Faustino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Crixas defense, Gilmar de Alcântara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benê Faustino. The Crixas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benê Faustino should have stopped the shot. Carlos Fernando Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Montenegro having to interfere. Benê Faustino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Claudinei Domingues fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RUBRONEGRO CRF's protests and gave Claudinei Domingues a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to RUBRONEGRO CRF getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Claudinei Domingues hit a great ball. When Eliseu Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RUBRONEGRO CRF's protests and gave Eliseu Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd minute, Eliseu Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Crixas's Erivaldo Quintal got a free kick in the 76th minute. The supporters of Crixas booed when RUBRONEGRO CRF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oséas Garcia who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Marcus Montenegro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, RUBRONEGRO CRF's Marcus Montenegro got control of the ball when Oséas Garcia tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Oséas Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Crixas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oséas Garcia couldn't finish the play. Oséas Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Marcus Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Erivaldo Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crixas's supporters rose to their feet, but Erivaldo Quintal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd minute, Oséas Garcia made a precise shot to the right of Marcus Montenegro. RUBRONEGRO CRF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2.
