Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Valdir Velasco started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Ricardo Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Teotonio's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Sarmento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Jacinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Missioneiro F.C. booed when Teotonio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdir Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Nelsinho Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Missioneiro F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Nelsinho Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dagoberto Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ricardo Sarmento scored 2-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joel Jacinto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdir Velasco during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 23 played minutes Teotonio got a freekick which was hit by Valdir Velasco. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Renatinho Berger in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dagoberto Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valdir Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Jacinto having to interfere. If Valdir Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joel Jacinto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdir Velasco in the 32nd minute. Nelsinho Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ricardo Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Velasco in the 37th minute of play forced Missioneiro F.C.'s goalkeeper Joel Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute of the match Agnaldo Sergipano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dagoberto Amaral skillfully saved the ball. After 39 played minutes Teotonio got a freekick which was hit by Chico Melo. When Renatinho Berger, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 41 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Dagoberto Amaral was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Renatinho Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nelsinho Sousa made a kick off. Ricardo Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Joel Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caco Guedes's late challenge caught a Missioneiro F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caco Guedes helped the player get up and apologised. Caco Guedes kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After 61 minutes Missioneiro F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dadá Machado who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Dadá Machado got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joel Jacinto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Teotonio's Dagoberto Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Teotonio from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Velasco in the 70th minute of play forced Missioneiro F.C.'s goalkeeper Joel Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Jacinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdir Velasco in the 74th minute of the match. A collision led to Missioneiro F.C. getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Eliézer Donatello hit a great ball. Joel Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caco Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Joel Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Missioneiro F.C.'s zone, Ricardo Sarmento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Jacinto came out of the goal and Ricardo Sarmento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Missioneiro F.C. defense, Valdir Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Jacinto. The Missioneiro F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Jacinto should have stopped the shot.
