After a defensive mix-up in Caripare SC's zone, Tadeu Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Mesquita came out of the goal and Tadeu Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sidnei Paranaense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leandro Mota in the 22nd minute. In the 22nd minute, Diogo Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Luís Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Paranaense having to interfere. In the 27th minute, André Luís Freitas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 28 played minutes Mensaleiros F. C got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Recife. Sidnei Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Luís Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Seco's late challenge caught a Caripare SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilberto Seco helped the player get up and apologised. Cássio Arruda shot from long distance in the 38th minute, but Sidnei Paranaense was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. In the 39th match minute, Mensaleiros F. C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovanni Arce to maneuver through the defense. If Leandro Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when André Luís Freitas made the kick off in the second half. C's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cássio Arruda was slow to take the kick. During this time Caripare SC's players had a chance to rest. A well done corner resulted in João Pedro Gerber drilling the ball in to score 2-0 behind Mensaleiros F. C's goalkeeper. Tadeu Catarinense kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. If Tadeu Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th match minute, Caripare SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pedro Gerber to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute, Diamantino Paraíba fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Diamantino Paraíba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Mesquita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Juninho Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Tadeu Catarinense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caripare SC's Elias Mesquita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Caripare SC from getting a goal against them. In the 83rd minute, Tadeu Catarinense fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Elias Mesquita, passed just outside the right post. Vivaldo Guimarães hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 89th minute Tadeu Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Luís Freitas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sidnei Paranaense having to make a save.
