Armando Toscano might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haroldo Paraibano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armando Toscano ran back to his position shaking his head. 23 minutes into the match, S.C Petrolina em Vermelho's goal looked a bit too open when Sydney Amaral came free, but Haroldo Paraibano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to S.C Petrolina em Vermelho getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Benedito Queirós hit a great ball. Campo Mourão Futebol Club's Clemente Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tião Rosa in the 52nd minute of play. Clemente Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durvalino de Alcântara in the 53rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Durvalino de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C Petrolina em Vermelho's supporters rose to their feet, but Durvalino de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemente Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 61 minutes into the game, Zé Roberto Neiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Campo Mourão Futebol Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.C Petrolina em Vermelho the free kick.
