An unexpectedly hard shot by João Paulo Souto in the 20th minute of play forced Sao Pao's goalkeeper Régis Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, Rafinha do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th match minute, Sao Pao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Tavares in the 28th minute of play forced Sao Pao's goalkeeper Régis Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Régis Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Lucas in the 29th minute of the match. Guilherme Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Régis Moura didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guilherme Tavares went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 37 played minutes FC Avenged Sevenfold got a freekick which was hit by Durvalino Fernandez. 45 minutes into the match, Guilherme Tavares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Régis Moura. Sao Pao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guilherme Tavares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dadá Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Régis Moura made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Alessandro Lucas sent off a good shot on target. After 55 played minutes Sao Pao got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Urbano. Sao Pao's Dadá Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Avenged Sevenfold's goalkeeper Elias Esteves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Sao Pao's zone, Guilherme Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Régis Moura came out of the goal and Guilherme Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alessandro Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Régis Moura having to interfere. After 64 played minutes Sao Pao got a freekick which was hit by Ademar Sampaio. FC Avenged Sevenfold's Alessandro Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 71 minutes into the game, Duarte Monteiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Avenged Sevenfold's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sao Pao the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of FC Avenged Sevenfold:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sao Pao:s goal. 76 minutes into the match, Sao Pao's goal looked a bit too open when Guilherme Tavares came free, but Régis Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aníbal Schmidt hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Alessandro Lucas let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 80th minute shot 1-3 at rihgt post. If Guilherme Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Régis Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guilherme Tavares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elias Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo de Queirós in the 92nd minute of the match. FC Avenged Sevenfold's Alessandro Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Avenged Sevenfold's zone, Dadá Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Esteves came out of the goal and Dadá Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dadá Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dadá Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sao Pao's Dadá Santos got a free kick in the 97th minute. FC Avenged Sevenfold's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
