In the 8th match minute, Os Mal Falado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavinho Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Flavinho Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adilson Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Secco having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Eugênio Camargo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Passaros's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugênio Camargo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrão Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute Rômulo Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rômulo Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Os Mal Falado's José Paulo Vaz got a free kick in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Travassos in the 40th minute of play forced Os Mal Falado's goalkeeper Pedrão Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Raúl Hoffmann fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Passaros's protests and gave Raúl Hoffmann a yellow card for diving instead. Flavinho Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Os Mal Falado booed when Passaros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Passaros getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Eugênio Camargo hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Luciano Félix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Os Mal Falado's Pedrão Sá got control of the ball when Rômulo Travassos tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 69 played minutes Os Mal Falado got a freekick which was hit by Igor Romero. Rômulo Travassos spun around in front of the goal 71 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Os Mal Falado's goal. Oswaldo Linhares's late challenge caught a Passaros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oswaldo Linhares helped the player get up and apologised. Oswaldo Linhares hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the match, Passaros's goal looked a bit too open when Flavinho Cavalcante came free, but Felipe Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedrão Sá didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Passaros. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Os Mal Falado fully deserved thier win.
