Wágner Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roberto Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Thomás Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Carlos Augusto Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Recordacao's Acácio Barros shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 10th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Thomás Cerezo but with some difficulty. Roberto Cordeiro in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Thomás Cerezo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thomás Cerezo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Cordeiro in the 18th minute. When Pedro Sergipano fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico LH's protests and gave Pedro Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. Wágner Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomás Cerezo having to interfere. When Edu Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Recordacao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edu Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. Geovanni Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Atletico LH was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Macedo to maneuver through the defense. Thomás Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico LH's zone, Wágner Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomás Cerezo came out of the goal and Wágner Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
Edu Gonçalves might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomás Cerezo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edu Gonçalves ran back to his position shaking his head. Recordacao's Lúcio Berger suffered a sprained foot after 54 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Carlos Augusto Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico LH's protests and gave Carlos Augusto Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. Recordacao's Régis Sanches was substituted for Lúcio Berger. After 55 played minutes Atletico LH got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Augusto Fonseca. After 57 played minutes Carlos Augusto Fonseca rounded Recordacao's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. Amadeu Alagoano hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Sidney Pombal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardo Macedo in the 65th minute. Edu Gonçalves might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomás Cerezo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edu Gonçalves ran back to his position shaking his head. Sidney Pombal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Augusto Fonseca's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. When Wágner Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Recordacao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wágner Nascimento couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Edu Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Recordacao's supporters rose to their feet, but Edu Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Cerezo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Augusto Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 81st minute, Carlos Augusto Fonseca reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sidney Pombal. The goal made the score 0-2. In the 85th minute of the match Geovanni Coelho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sidney Pombal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Atletico LH's goal looked a bit too open when Wágner Nascimento came free, but Thomás Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edu Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomás Cerezo having to interfere. Thomás Cerezo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Atletico LH's Thomás Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Nascimento in the 92nd minute of play. Thomás Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edu Gonçalves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Régis Sanches struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Thomás Cerezo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Recordacao. Chants of Atletico LH echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Recordacao had held the ball for most of the match.
