Alan Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Mosquitinho's Alan Simões in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bemposta's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 23 minutes, Egídio Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mosquitinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egídio Arruda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Maria Proença blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mané Machado having to make a save. Egídio Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Eusébio Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Egídio Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, José Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rubens Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Maria Proença was the one to do the kick off. Reynaldo Maranhense who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Mané Machado when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Alan Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 70 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Maranhense notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Mosquitinho's Mané Machado. Mané Machado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. José Maria Proença recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Alan Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eusébio Cavalcante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Egídio Arruda came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Mosquitinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egídio Arruda couldn't finish the play. When Benjamim Lira fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bemposta's protests and gave Benjamim Lira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th match minute, Bemposta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamim Lira to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute of the match Luan Queirós shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eusébio Cavalcante showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Egídio Arruda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eusébio Cavalcante having to make a save.
