José Paulo Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hílton Botelho in the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Juan de Godoi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 31st match minute, Real Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Gerson Hoffmann hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Sarutai EC's José Paulo Cardoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Sarutai EC from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan de Godoi in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Paulo Cardoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruy Quintal in the 42nd minute of play forced Real Madrid's goalkeeper André Teles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Sarutai EC's goalkeeper José Paulo Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tião Santana. José Paulo Cardoso was a little too slow when Juan de Godoi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ruy Quintal made a kick off. If Hílton Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Santana in the 56th minute of play forced Sarutai EC's goalkeeper José Paulo Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Sarutai EC's goal looked a bit too open when Hílton Botelho came free, but José Paulo Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Paulo Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hílton Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. If Ruy Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Paulo Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ruy Quintal came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Sarutai EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruy Quintal couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute, Gerson Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute, Hílton Botelho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real Madrid fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0.
