The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iuri Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Vitório de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Alfredão Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13thth minute of the game Rui Santana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Irmãos Medeiros FC's Flávio Rodrigues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Tubibau booed when Irmãos Medeiros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Tubibau's Jeferson Rosa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Flávio Rodrigues. Flávio Rodrigues yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Flávio Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeferson Rosa in the 29th minute of the match. If Iuri Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antônio de Godoi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Flávio Rodrigues. Irmãos Medeiros FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rui Santanas short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Flávio Rodrigues to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jeferson Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Flávio Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Rui Santana fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Flávio Rodrigues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rui Santana's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rui Santana was the one to do the kick off. When Tubibau's Rui Santana in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Jeferson Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tubibau's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeferson Rosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flávio Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Tubibau's Rui Santana in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jeferson Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Rui Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flávio Rodrigues was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. In the 81st minute, Jeferson Rosa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tubibau fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Santana in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flávio Rodrigues saved Irmãos Medeiros FC from getting behind. After having played for 88 minutes, Jeferson Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tubibau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeferson Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flávio Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Santana in the 90th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Irmãos Medeiros FC's zone, Rui Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flávio Rodrigues came out of the goal and Rui Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Tubibau were the better team. Tubibau's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
