Abel Meirelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Matorin in the 21st minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maurinho Matorin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sustenido FC's Gerson Dracena got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Dracena in the 64th minute of play forced Ipuera's goalkeeper Luizão de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sustenido FC's zone, Maurinho Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Meirelles came out of the goal and Maurinho Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 67 minutes into the game, Guga Coelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sustenido FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ipuera the free kick. After 72 played minutes Sustenido FC got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldão Leal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Percy Tepedino in the 74th minute of play forced Ipuera's goalkeeper Luizão de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurinho Matorin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Abel Meirelles skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. João Adolfo Salles struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Abel Meirelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipuera. In the 84th minute Percy Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gerson Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Ipuera could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sustenido FC throughout the match.
