After a rather tough play, Itaju's Ronaldinho Barros got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 13th minute, Wanderson Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wanderson Vale's late challenge caught a Ipuera's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wanderson Vale helped the player get up and apologised. Wanderson Vale hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. If João Adolfo Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 played minutes Itaju got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Goiano. Didi de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurinho Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Itaju's goal looked a bit too open when João Adolfo Salles came free, but Didi de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maurinho Matorin in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Didi de Brito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Didi de Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso de Sousa in the 35th minute of the match. Maurinho Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didi de Brito having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Luizão de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelsinho Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Maurício Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Maurinho Matorin in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Didi de Brito, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Maurinho Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ipuera's Luizão de Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wanderson Vale in the 78th minute of play. Charles Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Maurinho Matorin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Didi de Brito skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Maurinho Matorin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Didi de Brito made a huge save. Maurinho Matorin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Didi de Brito having to make a save. Jerônimo Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Ipuera left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Itaju.
