But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Willian de Godoy couldn't finish the play. The long shot by Luisão Moura in the 13th minute really tested Benjamin Quadros's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Time do Povo's Tibúrcio Nogueira got a free kick in the 16th minute. Willian de Godoy struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Benjamin Quadros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Time do Povo. 25 minutes into the match, Time do Povo's goal looked a bit too open when Natã Godoi came free, but Faustão Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gremio FPA's zone, Jorge Cerezo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Quadros came out of the goal and Jorge Cerezo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Willian de Godoy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benjamin Quadros was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. A hard shot by Olívio Barros from long distance, 39 minutes into the match, got Benjamin Quadros's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Willian de Godoy in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benjamin Quadros, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Benjamin Quadros managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Time do Povo's Willian de Godoy fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Time do Povo's Faustão Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Simões in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Time do Povo getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Adriano Damião hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roberto Arantes got free with Faustão Abreu in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Faustão Abreu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Natã Godoi in the 75th minute. In the 77thth minute of the game Willian de Godoy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gremio FPA's Benjamin Quadros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Gremio FPA's José de Almeida got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute, Willian de Godoy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamin Quadros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Jorge Cerezo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Time do Povo's Willian de Godoy in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gremio FPA's goalie prevented a goal. Time do Povo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
