In the 6thth minute of the game Décio Veiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arapira SC's Luís Fábio Mendes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Décio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Décio Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Mendes having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Décio Veiga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fábio Mendes. Arapira SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Décio Veiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Alberto França kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Profeta EC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseu Vieira came free, but Oséas Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Eliseu Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Profeta EC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Dráuzio Monteiro hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Profeta EC defense, Eliseu Vieira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oséas Paraíba. The Profeta EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oséas Paraíba should have stopped the shot. In the 27th minute, Décio Veiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Alberto França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Décio Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Profeta EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Décio Veiga couldn't finish the play. If Alberto França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fábio Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Décio Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Fábio Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Décio Veiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. With an all-out effort, Profeta EC's Luís Fábio Mendes threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Décio Veiga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival da Rocha in the 41st minute of play forced Profeta EC's goalkeeper Oséas Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alberto França was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto França in the 52nd minute of play forced Arapira SC's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the game, Eliseu Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arapira SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Profeta EC the free kick. After 53 played minutes Arapira SC got a freekick which was hit by Eliseu Vieira. Profeta EC's Décio Veiga got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Raimundo do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Arapira SC's Isaltino Recife got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Décio Veiga in the 61st minute of play forced Arapira SC's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Fábio Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Décio Veiga in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute Alberto França shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Fábio Mendes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto França's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. If Cláudio Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fábio Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto França in the 75th minute of the match. Luís Fábio Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto França in the 76th minute of play. Profeta EC's Oséas Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Vieira in the 78th minute of play. After 79 minutes, Alberto França mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Profeta EC and the Arapira SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes Profeta EC got a freekick which was hit by Alberto França. When Profeta EC's Alberto França in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arapira SC's goalie prevented a goal. Luís Fábio Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Décio Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the match, Décio Veiga notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Arapira SC's Luís Fábio Mendes. Luís Fábio Mendes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luís Fábio Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Décio Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Arapira SC booed when Profeta EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto França didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Profeta EC fully deserved thier win.
