After a rather tough play, Araucaria's Eurico Faria got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Pedro Luiz Hermes hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. The supporters of Benta booed when Araucaria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Válter Medeiros managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Benta's Cássio Paranaense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience was convinced that Waldir Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Josué de Lima was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Josué de Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manfredo Marquez in the 87th minute of the match. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
