After 6 minutes, Geovânio Nogueira made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. fc barcelona's Osmar de Lara tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gilmar da Fonseca took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Caetano Galvão. Caio Costa Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 10 played minutes Caio Costa Club got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Teles. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nando Messias in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osmar de Lara saved fc barcelona from getting behind. Osmar de Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nando Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Osmar de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Messias in the 16th minute of the match. The supporters of fc barcelona booed when Caio Costa Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, fc barcelona's Gilmar da Fonseca tried to score from far away in the 20th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Nando Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Osmar de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Gil Velasco reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Osmar de Lara. The goal made the score 2-0. Gil Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osmar de Lara having to interfere. After 38 minutes, Dinei Torres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caio Costa Club and the fc barcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nando Messias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silas Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Osmar de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 61st minute, Dinei Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dinei Torres was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Dinei Torres hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Osmar de Lara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geovânio Nogueira went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Caetano Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor de Castro in the 74th minute of play. After 76 played minutes Caio Costa Club got a freekick which was hit by Remo Donatello. 80 minutes into the match, Caio Costa Club's Geovânio Nogueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osmar de Lara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 81 in the game by Iuri Vander from a close distance when the talented Caetano Galvão managed to make a qualified save. Caio Costa Club's players were relieved. Geovânio Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Silas Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caio Costa Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Silas Vidal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osmar de Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the Caio Costa Club players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
