Alberto França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute, Ricardinho Britto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Décio Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Profeta EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Décio Veiga couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Alberto França had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gernando Galvão. Montenêses's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto França was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Profeta EC's Vitório Terra got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Profeta EC's Décio Veiga got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frédson Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Oséas Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lauro Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Profeta EC's William Linhares got a free kick in the 30th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Profeta EC's goalkeeper Oséas Paraíba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denílson Mineiro. After 36 played minutes Profeta EC got a freekick which was hit by William Linhares. If Alberto França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Décio Veiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gernando Galvão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Montenêses's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto França came free, but Gernando Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rômulo Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Alberto França made the kick off in the second half. Alberto França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denílson Mineiro scored 1-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oséas Paraíba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. During the 58th minute of the match Frédson Garcia completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Frédson Garcia a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 59 played minutes Montenêses got a freekick which was hit by Frédson Garcia. When Dráuzio Monteiro fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Profeta EC's protests and gave Dráuzio Monteiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th match minute, Profeta EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráuzio Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. Décio Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Décio Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto França in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gernando Galvão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Profeta EC's Alberto França in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montenêses's goalie prevented a goal. Lauro Varela's late challenge caught a Profeta EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lauro Varela helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Montenêses getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Lauro Varela hit a great ball. After 76 played minutes Profeta EC got a freekick which was hit by Dráuzio Monteiro. The audience was convinced that Alberto França's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gernando Galvão was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. When Profeta EC's Alberto França in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montenêses's goalie prevented a goal. Gernando Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Décio Veiga in the 83rd minute of play. Décio Veiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gernando Galvão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Décio Veiga ran back to his position shaking his head. Profeta EC's Alberto França got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Alberto França's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gernando Galvão was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Profeta EC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
