In the 8th minute João Pedro Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Vargas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Corinthians's João Pedro Montenegro managed to work through FLADF's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. João Pedro Montenegro dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. João Pedro Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that João Pedro Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Germano Vargas was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. 37 minutes into the game, Silas Quadros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FLADF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corinthians the free kick. Anísio Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, FLADF's Cícero Diniz got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Anísio Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Germano Vargas having to interfere. Sandrinho Amaral's late challenge caught a Corinthians's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandrinho Amaral helped the player get up and apologised. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silas Quadros made a kick off. João Pedro Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Germano Vargas having to interfere. João Pedro Montenegro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Germano Vargas came out and tried to block the shot, but João Pedro Montenegro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 63rd minute. When Anísio Ferreira came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Corinthians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio Ferreira couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the match, FLADF's goalkeeper Germano Vargas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anísio Ferreira. In the 70th minute João Pedro Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Vargas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Pedro Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Germano Vargas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Pedro Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anísio Ferreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, João Pedro Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corinthians's supporters rose to their feet, but João Pedro Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Germano Vargas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If João Pedro Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FLADF's Cícero Diniz got his second yellow card of the match in the 86th minute. The referee ordered Cícero Diniz off the ground. A collision led to FLADF getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Cícero Diniz hit a great ball. João Pedro Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th match minute, FLADF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabinho Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. Germano Vargas made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Anísio Ferreira sent off a good shot on target. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Corinthians walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
