Gravediggers FC's Albertinho da Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Gravediggers FC from getting a goal against them. If João Pedro Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pedro Montenegro in the 32nd minute of play forced Gravediggers FC's goalkeeper Albertinho da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Tiago Maciel fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gravediggers FC's protests and gave Tiago Maciel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gravediggers FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Tiago Maciel hit a great ball. Albertinho da Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Pedro Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Anísio Ferreira came free with the goalkeeper in the 40th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Albertinho da Costa could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Anísio Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corinthians's supporters rose to their feet, but Anísio Ferreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albertinho da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Rony Queiroz made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Anísio Ferreira put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Albertinho da Costa. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Reginaldo Mendonça hit a great ball. Albertinho da Costa came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Corinthians's João Pedro Montenegro. But to his dismay, João Pedro Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Gravediggers FC's Albertinho da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Ferreira in the 74th minute of play. Corinthians's Cristiano Messias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Corinthians from getting a goal against them. Corinthians's João Pedro Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Albertinho da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rony Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Tiago Maciel was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. Kléberson Massa, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. There was no doubt that Corinthians were the better team. Corinthians's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
