The audience thought a goal was coming when Frederico Messias got free with Sebastião de Lima in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the game, Leonardo Silveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Franquinho FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Medieval Football Club the free kick. The supporters of Medieval Football Club booed when Franquinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonardo Pena struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Sebastião de Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Medieval Football Club. Magno Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. If Leonardo Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 minutes of play, Medieval Football Club's Frederico Messias made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastião de Lima was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Franquinho FC booed when Medieval Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gláuber de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonardo Pena in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastião de Lima saved Franquinho FC from getting behind. After having played for 45 minutes, Frederico Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Medieval Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frederico Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Frederico Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

After having played for 53 minutes, Noel Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Franquinho FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noel Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Medieval Football Club's Vitinho Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Medieval Football Club from getting a goal against them. Waldir Moreira hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute, Bernardo Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardo Dias stood ready after the free kick and tried to head the ball into the goal, but got pushed from behind by one of Medieval Football Club's defenders and the ball went out. Franquinho FC appealed in vain for a penalty, the referee looked over at the linesman, but the flag stayed down. No Penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernardo Dias in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vitinho Mendes saved Medieval Football Club from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Medieval Football Club's zone, Noel Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitinho Mendes came out of the goal and Noel Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitinho Mendes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Noel Rodrigues in the 79th minute. Sebastião de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Pena in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Leonardo Pena notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Franquinho FC's Sebastião de Lima. Sebastião de Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gláuber de Mendonça was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Gláuber de Mendonça hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Frederico Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião de Lima having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Frederico Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Medieval Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Frederico Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastião de Lima breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 96 minutes into the match, Franquinho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Mello came free, but Sebastião de Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Medieval Football Club fully deserved thier win.
