After 19 minutes, Lalla Tufiño made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Real Vitinho's Christian Guimarães tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 23 minutes into the match, Real Vitinho's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo Alvarenga came free, but Christian Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dimitris Gaitanakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Christian Guimarães managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when São Gonçalo EC - SUB23's Lalla Tufiño fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 44th match minute, Real Vitinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvaldo Coutinho to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anderson Novaes to make the kick off. Anderson Novaes charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Christian Guimarães made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. The supporters of Real Vitinho booed when São Gonçalo EC - SUB23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vivaldo Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Real Vitinho defense, Kitam Prima kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Guimarães. The Real Vitinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Guimarães should have stopped the shot. In the 85th minute Lalla Tufiño shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Paulo Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Christian Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Real Vitinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Gonçalo EC - SUB23 the free kick. Perivaldo Valladares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christian Guimarães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play.
