The tension between the FLADF and the SouLofGold players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SouLofGold booed when FLADF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. SouLofGold's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FLADF the free kick. Murilo do Nascimento ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silas Quadros was the one to do the kick off. When Humberto Vides fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
