In the 11th minute of the match São Gonçalo EC - SUB23 got a corner. Real Vitinho's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Elias Dante ran over to the corner to take the kick. Zé Paulo Alvarenga was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 14 minutes into the match, São Gonçalo EC - SUB23's goal looked a bit too open when Anderson Novaes came free, but Mazinho Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15 minutes, Zé Paulo Alvarenga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the São Gonçalo EC - SUB23 and the Real Vitinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to São Gonçalo EC - SUB23 getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Zé Paulo Alvarenga hit a great ball. Manfredo Pontes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Christian Guimarães. Real Vitinho's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 29 played minutes Real Vitinho got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Paraense. Christian Guimarães came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by São Gonçalo EC - SUB23's Lalla Tufiño. But to his dismay, Lalla Tufiño quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mazinho Velloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Real Vitinho's zone, Lalla Tufiño stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Guimarães came out of the goal and Lalla Tufiño tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dimitris Gaitanakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Christian Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lalla Tufiño to make the kick off. Perivaldo Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Guimarães having to interfere. If Lalla Tufiño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lalla Tufiño in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christian Guimarães saved Real Vitinho from getting behind. Anderson Novaes took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mazinho Velloso. Mazinho Velloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Lalla Tufiño blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Guimarães having to make a save. Perivaldo Valladares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Guimarães having to make a save. After some careless play in the Real Vitinho defense, Lalla Tufiño kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Guimarães. The Real Vitinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Guimarães should have stopped the shot. Lalla Tufiño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Real Vitinho's zone, Dimitris Gaitanakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Guimarães came out of the goal and Dimitris Gaitanakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes into the match, Manfredo Pontes sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Christian Guimarães threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Manfredo Pontes this time. If Lalla Tufiño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Lalla Tufiño got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lalla Tufiño blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Guimarães having to make a save. São Gonçalo EC - SUB23 played a much better game than Real Vitinho and deserved their victory. The Real Vitinho players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
