Mazinho Velloso came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Medieval Football Club's Frederico Messias. But to his dismay, Frederico Messias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, São Gonçalo EC - SUB23's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Pena came free, but Mazinho Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mazinho Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Pena in the 11th minute of play. Elias Dante, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Vitinho Mendes came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by São Gonçalo EC - SUB23's Lalla Tufiño. But to his dismay, Lalla Tufiño quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lalla Tufiño in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitinho Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zé Paulo Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitinho Mendes having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lalla Tufiño in the 27th minute of play forced Medieval Football Club's goalkeeper Vitinho Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Lalla Tufiño notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Medieval Football Club's Vitinho Mendes. Vitinho Mendes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Lalla Tufiño put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Vitinho Mendes. 40 minutes into the match, São Gonçalo EC - SUB23's Lalla Tufiño sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vitinho Mendes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Pena in the 41st minute of play forced São Gonçalo EC - SUB23's goalkeeper Mazinho Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Medieval Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo Alvarenga came free, but Vitinho Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leonardo Pena to strike the kick off in the second half. Dimitris Gaitanakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lalla Tufiño might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vitinho Mendes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lalla Tufiño ran back to his position shaking his head. Rogério Ceni charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rogério Ceni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vitinho Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for São Gonçalo EC - SUB23. Inácio Mello hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the game, Zé Paulo Alvarenga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. São Gonçalo EC - SUB23's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Medieval Football Club the free kick. The supporters of Medieval Football Club booed when São Gonçalo EC - SUB23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Paulo Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute Zé Paulo Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubens Maranhense hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Dimitris Gaitanakis might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vitinho Mendes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dimitris Gaitanakis ran back to his position shaking his head. Lalla Tufiño's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Vitinho Mendes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Lalla Tufiño in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vitinho Mendes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. São Gonçalo EC - SUB23's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
