Celting F C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canuma the free kick. After a rather tough play, Celting F C's Amauri de Castro got a free kick in the 9th minute. Kléber Cardozo kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Felipe Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Canuma getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Jaime Zonta hit a great ball. When Celting F C's Edmundo Braga in 18 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Gil Koehler guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 22 minutes into the match, Renato Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caetano Cosme. Celting F C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renato Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Caetano Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Goiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Renato Nascimento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Caetano Cosme was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felipe Goiano charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felipe Goiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felipe Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Edson Saldanha's late challenge caught a Canuma's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edson Saldanha helped the player get up and apologised. Celting F C's Caetano Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Nascimento in the 40th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felipe Goiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Caetano Cosme came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Canuma's Renato Nascimento. But to his dismay, Renato Nascimento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 56th minute, Kléber Cardozo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 57 played minutes Canuma got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Zonta. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Canuma's goalkeeper Gil Koehler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Celting F C's Caetano Cosme got control of the ball when Renato Nascimento tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caetano Cosme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Goiano in the 65th minute of play. A collision led to Celting F C getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Edmundo Braga hit a great ball. When Kléber Cardozo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 74 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gil Koehler was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Kléber Cardozo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gil Koehler was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. In the 81st minute Felipe Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caetano Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gil Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléber Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. When Amauri de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Celting F C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amauri de Castro couldn't finish the play. If Kléber Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Canuma's César Marques got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Canuma supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Canuma would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
