Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipe Goiano in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zézinho Mesquita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gil Koehler made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Miguel Vidal sent off a good shot on target. César Marques hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Jaime Zonta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Canuma's goal looked a bit too open when Glauco Luz came free, but Gil Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gil Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Vidal in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Conrado Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tibbers's Zézinho Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Goiano in the 82nd minute of play. When Felipe Goiano came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Canuma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Goiano couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Glauco Luz during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Canuma booed when Tibbers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glauco Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball.
