After 14 minutes of play, Celting F C's Edmundo Braga made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silvinho de Andrade was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 19th minute, Kléber Cardozo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caetano Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedê Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 31 minutes into the game, Cacá Barreto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Celting F C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tijucano the free kick. The supporters of Tijucano booed when Celting F C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cacá Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Romário Schmidt made a kick off. Tijucano's Dedê Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvinho de Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléber Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Dedê Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmundo Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho de Andrade having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Kléber Cardozo made a precise shot to the right of Silvinho de Andrade. Tijucano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Romário Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tijucano's supporters rose to their feet, but Romário Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celting F C were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Tijucano to leave the ground with a draw.
