To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Igor Meira took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raimundo Ortiz. Raimundo Ortiz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jânio Freitas during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 26 played minutes Grêmio Atlético Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Barral. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tiraninhos FC's goalkeeper Laerte Salles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Tiraninhos FC's Júnior Vinhas in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grêmio Atlético Paulista's goalie prevented a goal. Gonçalo Trancoso hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júnior Vinhas couldn't finish the play. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grêmio Atlético Paulista's goalkeeper Raimundo Ortiz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

But to his dismay, Marco Severo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Falcão Ceresso during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Grêmio Atlético Paulista booed when Tiraninhos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maurinho Meirelles missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 72 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Laerte Salles right hand side. Walmyr Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Igor Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Marco Severo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grêmio Atlético Paulista fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 97 minutes into the game, Tiraninhos FC's Júnior Vinhas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raimundo Ortiz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tiraninhos FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Grêmio Atlético Paulista.
