Celeste SC's André Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco de Queiroz in the 32nd minute of play. Luís Eduardo Vander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Osvald Malmberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After having played for 48 minutes, Francisco de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NAVY MARINERS S.E's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco de Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Júlio Furlan made the kick off in the second half. Júlio Furlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 played minutes Celeste SC got a freekick which was hit by Geovanni Torres. If André Vergílio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Maranhense having to interfere.
