Ademar Galvão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Baiano in the 9th minute. If Christian Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ademar Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olívio Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Narciso de Lima hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Walmir Goiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andrézinho Hoffmann. Itapicuru SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walmir Goiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 37 minutes into the match, Calango Virgulino's goal looked a bit too open when Olívio Vargas came free, but Ademar Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrick Catarinense in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrézinho Hoffmann saved Itapicuru SS from getting behind. In the 47th minute Patrick Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrézinho Hoffmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Calango Virgulino booed when Itapicuru SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremias Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olívio Vargas made a kick off. Olívio Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Ademar Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Gernando Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Itapicuru SS's Andrézinho Hoffmann got control of the ball when Patrick Catarinense tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Itapicuru SS! 65 minutes into the match, Calango Virgulino's goal looked a bit too open when Olívio Vargas came free, but Ademar Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Christian Baiano came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Itapicuru SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Baiano couldn't finish the play. Patrick Catarinense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Andrézinho Hoffmann made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Calango Virgulino's Patrick Catarinense slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Andrézinho Hoffmann. That made the score 0-4 after 71 minutes of play. In the 76th minute of the match Vinícius Mendes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andrézinho Hoffmann skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 78 minutes, Patrick Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calango Virgulino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Catarinense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Olívio Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82ndth minute of the game Christian Baiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Calango Virgulino's Ademar Galvão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Olívio Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Olívio Vargas came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Itapicuru SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olívio Vargas couldn't finish the play. Olívio Vargas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Calango Virgulino eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
