He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marsal reached it. After 12 played minutes Marsal got a freekick which was hit by Robinho Bezerra. Paulinho Cerezo took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vinícius Borges. Vinícius Borges dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulinho Matorin got free with Celso Machado in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Romário Alagoano fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RB Miguelense's protests and gave Romário Alagoano a yellow card for diving instead. Romário Alagoano hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulinho Matorin got free with Celso Machado in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Raimundo Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Paulinho Cerezo put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Vinícius Borges. Vinícius Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulinho Cerezo in the 42nd minute of the match. Betão Meireles charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Betão Meireles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd match minute, RB Miguelense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betão Meireles to maneuver through the defense. Robinho Bezerra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Celso Machado. RB Miguelense's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Raimundo Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orlando Guedes made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulinho Matorin in the 54th minute of play forced RB Miguelense's goalkeeper Celso Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RB Miguelense's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
