Spectators: 7188 (Terracing: 5393, Seating: 1653, VIP seats: 142) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Edinho Hoffmann kicked off to start the match. 6 minutes into the match, Legião Games F.C's goalkeeper Adelino de Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dráuzio Galvão. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Hortêncio Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legião Games F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Hortêncio Trigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osmar Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Caveira Taubate FC's zone, Jailson Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osmar Varela came out of the goal and Jailson Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Legião Games F.C's Adelino de Mendonça got control of the ball when Dráuzio Galvão tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jailson Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Caveira Taubate FC's Basílio Rocha got a free kick in the 24th minute. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Jailson Amorim put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Osmar Varela. 38 minutes into the game, Dráuzio Galvão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Adelino de Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Faustão Quadros fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Legião Games F.C's protests and gave Faustão Quadros a yellow card for diving instead. The corner led Caveira Taubate FC's Dino Fernandez to fire away a dangerous shot which Adelino de Mendonça despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vitinho Nogueira was the one to do the kick off. Legião Games F.C's Adelino de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráuzio Galvão in the 52nd minute of play. Dráuzio Galvão scored 2-2 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adelino de Mendonça, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 58 minutes into the game, Cipriano Veloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caveira Taubate FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Legião Games F.C the free kick. In the 59th minute, Cipriano Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vitinho Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vitinho Nogueira scored 3-2 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adelino de Mendonça, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Adelino de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitinho Nogueira in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Nogueira in the 73rd minute of play forced Legião Games F.C's goalkeeper Adelino de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dráuzio Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eriberto de Alcântara during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 76 played minutes Legião Games F.C got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto de Alcântara. Dráuzio Galvão took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adelino de Mendonça. Adelino de Mendonça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Osmar Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jailson Amorim in the 82nd minute. Edinho Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osmar Varela having to interfere. After some careless play in the Caveira Taubate FC defense, Jailson Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osmar Varela. The Caveira Taubate FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osmar Varela should have stopped the shot.
