The shot was a little too simple and Celso Machado could save by the left post. Alexsandro Albuquerque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulinho Cerezo in the 5th minute of the match. After some careless play in the É osguri defense, Raimundo Berger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexsandro Albuquerque. The É osguri fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexsandro Albuquerque should have stopped the shot. Alexsandro Albuquerque made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Berger in the 9th minute of play. Celso Machado made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Osvaldo Varela sent off a good shot on target. Alexsandro Albuquerque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulinho Cerezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Osvaldo Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, É osguri's Raimundo Sampaio got a free kick in the 20th minute. After 21 played minutes, RB Miguelense's Nildo Castro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alexsandro Albuquerque came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RB Miguelense reached it. 26 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Varela cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Celso Machado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alexsandro Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Alexsandro Albuquerque didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulinho Cerezo went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 39th minute Mathias Palmeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexsandro Albuquerque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celso Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Alexsandro Albuquerque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazinho de Salles in the 45th minute of the match. Osvaldo Varela struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Celso Machado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for É osguri. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldo de Sousa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo de Sousa in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celso Machado saved RB Miguelense from getting behind. Mazinho de Salles's late challenge caught a É osguri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mazinho de Salles helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th match minute, É osguri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Enio de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Machado having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Ronaldo de Sousa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celso Machado was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. If Osvaldo Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alexsandro Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mazinho de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Varela couldn't finish the play. Raimundo Berger's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alexsandro Albuquerque firmly grabbed it by the left post. É osguri's Alexsandro Albuquerque played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulinho Cerezo in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, RB Miguelense's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Varela came free, but Celso Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo de Sousa in the 88th minute of play forced RB Miguelense's goalkeeper Celso Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Jonas Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot. É osguri's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonas Vidal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 96 minutes into the match, É osguri's Ronaldo de Sousa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celso Machado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
