Alfredo Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 12 minutes into the game, Antônio Carlos Pontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alagoas AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RB Miguelense the free kick. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alagoas AD's goalkeeper Alfredo Costa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Romeu Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romeu Leite's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Celso Machado skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 24 minutes into the match, Mauro Carioca dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Celso Machado, 2-1. RB Miguelense's Celso Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Carioca in the 29th minute of play. Nildo Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. The supporters of Alagoas AD booed when RB Miguelense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauro Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulinho Cerezo was the one to do the kick off. Celso Machado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paulinho Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Costa having to interfere. Paulinho Cerezo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfredo Costa came out and tried to block the shot, but Paulinho Cerezo slotted it home off the left post making it 4-3 in the 79th minute. 82 minutes into the game, Mazinho de Salles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RB Miguelense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alagoas AD the free kick. In the 82nd match minute, RB Miguelense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mazinho de Salles to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Carioca in the 86th minute of play forced RB Miguelense's goalkeeper Celso Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Machado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romeu Leite's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Mauro Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in RB Miguelense's zone, Romeu Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Machado came out of the goal and Romeu Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. RB Miguelense's Celso Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu Leite in the 92nd minute of play. Alagoas AD were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of RB Miguelense for a fine match.
