In the 6th minute, Silvério Tavares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Paiva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodolfo Soeiro went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Soeiro in the 14th minute of play forced Cruzeiro Paulista's goalkeeper Carlos Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cruzeiro Paulista's zone, Rodolfo Soeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Paiva came out of the goal and Rodolfo Soeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro Paulista's Silas Mesquita got a free kick in the 17th minute. Emerson Ceresso struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Carlos Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ondina FC. In the 21st minute Emerson Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emerson Ceresso in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute, Hélio Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Emerson Ceresso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Paiva. Cruzeiro Paulista's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emerson Ceresso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Mateus Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Paiva having to interfere. Carlos Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emerson Ceresso in the 40th minute of play. Válbson Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Josué Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emerson Ceresso was the one to do the kick off. Cléberson Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. If Silvério Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silas Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Josué Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvério Tavares in the 60th minute of play. Rodolfo Soeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mateus Arantes's late challenge caught a Cruzeiro Paulista's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateus Arantes helped the player get up and apologised. After 71 played minutes Ondina FC got a freekick which was hit by Mateus Arantes. After having played for 72 minutes, Válbson Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruzeiro Paulista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Válbson Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeremias Pereira's late challenge caught a Ondina FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremias Pereira helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cruzeiro Paulista getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Jeremias Pereira hit a great ball. Rodolfo Soeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Carlos Paiva made a huge save. Rodolfo Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Carlos Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83 minutes of play, Cruzeiro Paulista's Válbson Cruz made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Josué Tavares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Silvério Tavares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Ondina FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
